Happy New Year one and all! And happy new decade too!  I went into the new year with a super positive attitude this year thinking: "2020 is going to be great, I can just feel it!"  Then I fell ill with a flu, learned about the devastating fires in Australia, and followed along with some other world events and suddenly, only 3 days old at the time, 2020 was not looking quite as promising as I'd hoped.  I'm doing my level best to remain optimistic in the face of everything out there, and of course that means to keep calm...

As the storm comes in overnight tonight, and settles snow around us like an oversized Aran blanket, it will be hard not to get swept up with the holiday spirit. September has always meant new beginnings to me. Going back to my school days, September meant a new outfit, maybe a new haircut, new grade, new class, sometimes a new school, and new notebooks with crisp lined pages waiting for the date to be printed in the bubbly heart-dotted writing of a pre-teen girl. Summer is in full swing and as I said in June, summer is one of my favourites.  I can do without humidity but the sunshine and warmth fuels my soul.  Besides, the summer sun means long bright evenings perfect for open-air crafting.  I spent some time visiting with family so I didn't get the July blog out when I intended.  I would show you my travel knitting but I've recently had to tink and frog back all of it due to a lost stitch marker.  There I was happily increasing at all the stitch markers as planned, until I noticed...
